I went to my favorite place today.
I stood up on the cliff
Under that dead, bent tree
That I love so much.
And I watched the waves break
All along the coast.
And you found your way into my mind.
I smiled,
Thinking of how I wanted you
There with me.
For you to be behind me
Wrapping your arms around my waist
Lightly brushing your lips
Against my ear and my neck
Then resting your chin
On the top of my head
As I lean back into you
Trying to be closer
Enjoying every moment of your company
And deep down
Wishing it were real.
I rest my hands on your arms
Feeling your warmth
And smile.
That smiles remains with me
Throughout the day
Knowing that one day
I will be able to show you
This favorite place of mine
And it may transform
From my favorite place
To ours.
