I woke up this morning,
startled awake by the loudest noise,
With the warmest,
Most incredible feeling.
I was at your place again last night.
We didn't do much.
Just a bunch of us,
My brother included,
Watching,
If you can call it that,
A movie.
Me,
I was watching your fish,
(And you)
For they were much more interesting.
It will be three weeks
'Til I can see you again,
And even then,
I would not know where 'we' stand,
But that is not what really matters.
I will see you again,
And that is what really matters.
We stayed 'til 3.
Until we all started to fall asleep
(Though that is not the only way
I started to fall)
There was a 'good night'
And a 'I'll see you again'
And it was over,
For the night, that is.
And I slept with a smile.
