s I mentioned in my "life story" in the Non-RP Section, I stumbled on the art of Role Playing entirely on accident. For one thing, I had never heard of Role Playing before in my life. Sure I had heard of Dungeons & Dragons, but that's because I had always watched that cartoon on TV when I was little. I didn't know it was a table top RPG. It took all of about two days to get me addicted to the games, and that was a little over three years ago. I just don't want to quit.

I guess my very first experience with Role Playing was about two years before I knew what RP was. It started when I was living with my aunt to help take care of my baby cousin while my aunt went to work. She was a summer school teacher that summer, and had to work 4 hours a day every day. I was 15 and got paid $10 per day, but that's alright.

So, as I was saying, I first started "role playing" two years before I knew what it was. We "acted out" pool parties and such on IRC. That's all I knew of chatting online back in '95. When I came back online in '97, I was bored out of my mind in Yahoo! chat. I wandered through rooms and it seemed like every other question was either "wanna cyber?" or "a/s/l?"

I got bored enough eventually that I started going to rooms that random males were in. Some of those trips landed in some private room, but once I landed in a role playing room. I landed in the original RPG Tavern. I don't remember now who it was that I was following that particular time, but I do remember how nice everyone was to me, a "newbie" as they've come to be known now-a-days.

I spent the rest of my days at yahoo in that "tavern" for the most part. Every now and then I would wander to a few other places in the Arts & Entertainment (now known as Ayenee even though Yahoo! changed it to Entertainment & Arts). I kept a room at Ayenee for quite some time as well. Rose and Kayla's home, The Black Rose Tavern. Once Yahoo! started getting crowded, I started to drift away from it. It became harder and harder to find my friends.

Eventually I found out where they went and I followed them to Vanda. It was a world created by a group of them, and we played at Centuryinter.net (which no longer exists). It was in Vanda that most of my character changes took place. Rose was turned into what she is today. All the important, life-changing things happened at Vanda. She was turned into a Vampire, she married and "divorced," and she was almost killed by her exhusband. Life on Vanda did a lot to shape her into who she is.

I picked a few of my other characters while in Vanda. Asrana and Xana were created there, and Kayla spent a little bit of time there.

After Vanda, I wandered back over to Ayenee, but I didn't do much in the way of RP. There wasn't much that I was enjoying there. Eventually, I got ahold of some old friends, and joined the Blackwing Coven. Kayla had been an honorary member of the Coven before because she was a mother to one of the members. The second time around, Rose was able to join as a full fledged member.

The Coven RP was done on a message board and it took a while to get used to that style of RP. I don't think I liked it at first, but I love it now. The Coven is where I play now, though, because of some disagreeances, it is no longer Blackwing Coven. It's known as Exodus Castle.

I've played at a few other places. The Realm of the River was another message board RP, but that's been closed. I did an email RPG for a bit. The only thing I've never really touched on is table top RP, though I do have a Dungeons & Dragons character (Mystyna- thanks to a few friends for their help in creating her stats). The closest that I've gotten to table top was the email game I was in.

            I wonder what ever happened to that . . . .
